TicketSoc Terms & Conditions of use
Welcome to TicketSoc! We here at TicketSoc would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing us as your student ticket provider, and wish you a pleasant and simple transaction.
*Please note* All bank transfers made through this website will go directly to Ticketsoc. Ticketsoc, and not Sheffield University Students' Union, is responsible for the transfer of monies to the designated recipient.
Web Site Terms and Conditions of Use
By accessing this web site, you are agreeing to be bound by these web site Terms and Conditions of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this web site are protected by applicable copyright and trade mark law. TicketSoc sells all tickets as an agent on behalf of the organisers, promoters, artists, venues or producers of an event (referred to as a "Promoter") on these terms and conditions and subject to any other terms, conditions or rules applicable to that event.
2. Use License
a. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on TicketSoc's web site for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
i. modify or copy the materials;
ii. use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
iii. attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on TicketSoc's web site;
iv. remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
v. transfer the materials to another person or "mirror" the materials on any other server.
b. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by TicketSoc at any time. Upon terminating your viewing of these materials or upon the termination of this license, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession whether in electronic or printed format.
The materials on TicketSoc's web site are provided "as is". TicketSoc makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, TicketSoc does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its Internet web site or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.
In no event shall TicketSoc or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption,) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on TicketSoc's Internet site, even if TicketSoc or a TicketSoc authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
5. Revisions and Errata
The materials appearing on TicketSoc's web site could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. TicketSoc does not warrant that any of the materials on its web site are accurate, complete, or current. TicketSoc may make changes to the materials contained on its web site at any time without notice. TicketSoc does not, however, make any commitment to update the materials.
TicketSoc has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its Internet web site and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by TicketSoc of the site. Use of any such linked web site is at the user's own risk.
8. Governing Law
Any claim relating to TicketSoc's web site shall be governed by the laws of England without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Prohibited Content
The following is a partial list of the kind of Content which is illegal or prohibited on the Site. It includes Content that:
• is patently offensive to the online community, such as Content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual; could be harmful to minors;
• harasses or advocates harassment of another person;
• involves the transmission of "junk mail", "chain letters", or unsolicited mass mailing or "spamming";
• promotes information that you know is false, misleading or promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libellous;
• promotes an illegal or unauthorised copy of another person's copyrighted work, such as providing pirated computer programs or links to them, providing information to circumvent manufacture-installed copy-protect devices, or providing pirated music or links to pirated music files;
• contains restricted or password only access pages, or hidden pages or images (those not linked to or from another accessible page);
• displays pornographic or sexually explicit material of any kind;
• provides material that exploits people under the age of 18 in a sexual or violent manner, or solicits personal information from anyone under 18;
• provides instructional information about illegal activities such as making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses;
• solicits passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other users; and
• engages in commercial activities and/or sales without our prior written consent such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, and pyramid schemes.
10. Violation of the Terms
11. Limitation on Liability
Except in jurisdictions where such provisions are restricted, in no event will TicketSoc be liable to you for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special or punitive damages, including also lost profits, even if TicketSoc has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You agree to indemnify and hold TicketSoc, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents and other partners and employees, harmless from any loss, liability, claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your use of the Site, including also your use of the Site to provide a link to another site or to upload content or other information to the Site.
13. Purchasing Tickets
Tickets purchased by you are for personal use only unless prior permission is obtained from TicketSoc beforehand. A breach of this condition will entitle TicketSoc to cancel the tickets without prior notification, refund, compensation, or liability.
An order for tickets is not complete until accepted by TicketSoc. We try to ensure all prices are accurate but errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of tickets you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and we may either cancel the order (in which case you will be refunded the ticket price and any booking, transaction or supplementary fees you have paid) or give you the option of confirming your order at the correct price.
Tickets will be despatched to you electronically via the email address supplied during the checkout stage, upon completion of the checkout process. TicketSoc assumes that this email address is correct and accepts no responsibility for incorrect entry by the individual purchasing the tickets.
Always check your tickets upon receipt and advise us promptly of any errors. Mistakes when ordering cannot always be corrected and any corrections are discretionary.
15. Cancellation Rights and Refunds
Tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, or refunded once purchased other than for the reasons set out in these terms and conditions.
If the event takes place but you do not receive the tickets you have purchased for any of following reasons you will be refunded the ticket price and any booking, transaction or supplementary fees you have paid:
TicketSoc does not receive the tickets from the Promoter and cannot arrange for duplicates to be delivered;
The tickets have been sent to an address different to the one you specified and you tell us within a reasonable period, and replacement tickets are not provided; or
Your tickets are not despatched and no arrangements are made for the tickets to be available elsewhere.
No duplicate tickets will be issued to replace tickets that have been lost or stolen after they have been delivered to you, and nor will such tickets be refunded.
16. Cancellation, Change, or Postponement of an event
Decisions to change or cancel events are the responsibility of the Promoter. TicketSoc cannot guarantee to inform you of any change or cancellation of any event however will try its best to do so where possible. TicketSoc cannot be held responsible for refunds or for any resulting costs you many incur for travel, accommodation, or any other related goods or service or any other compensation.
If a Promoter makes significant changes to or cancels an event and confirms this to TicketSoc, TicketSoc will try to inform you via the email address supplied to purchase the tickets.
If an event is rescheduled, changed, or moved, the Promoter will usually give you the option to choose between claiming a refund and exchanging your tickets for the new date/location for example.
If an event is cancelled by the Promoter, TicketSoc will aim to help facilitate the refund transactions, however it is the responsibility of the Promoter to grant TicketSoc permission for this.

Any refund will usually be paid, using the same method you used to buy the tickets, within 30 days of the original date of the event or the date that we receive contact from you.
18. Attending an Event
Events are not the responsibility of TicketSoc. TicketSoc does not organise events and has no responsibility whatsoever for any loss or damage of any kind suffered at or in connection with any event (including loss, damage or theft any personal property at an event).
Admission to an event is at all times subject to any terms, conditions or rules of the Promoter and the venue operator. If you breach those terms, conditions or rules then the Promoter or venue operator may refuse admission or require you or other ticket holders to leave the venue.
Amongst other things you will need to comply with health and safety rules and any security requirements (including security searches for the safety of those attending the event). The venue or the Promoter will have rights to refuse admission or eject you in certain circumstances and these are likely to include if you are involved with abusive, threatening, drunken or other anti-social behaviour, or carry offensive weapons or illegal or prohibited substances or make unauthorised audio, video or photographic recordings. There will often also be rules restricting or preventing the admission of latecomers.
Before you finalise your booking, please read all the information that applies to the event and/or ticket. If you or any member of your party has particular requirements please raise these when booking and we will endeavour to address your query. There can be no guarantee that requirements can be met if notified at the event.
When you receive your tickets check the details carefully. When attending the event, carry proof of age if appropriate.
Personal identification information
We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, fill out a form, subscribe to the newsletter and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, and phone number. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously.
We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
Non-personal identification information
We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Site, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

TicketSoc collects and uses Users personal information for the following purposes:
• To improve customer service
Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
• To personalize user experience
We may use information in the aggregate to understand how our Users as a group use the services and resources provided on our Site.
• To improve our Site
We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.
• To process transactions
We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service.
• To administer a content, promotion, survey or other Site feature
To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.
• To send periodic emails
The email address Users provide for order processing, will only be used to send them information and updates pertaining to their order. It may also be used to respond to their inquiries, and/or other requests or questions. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or User may contact us via our Site.
How we protect your information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.
Your acceptance of these terms
By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy and terms of service. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
